Nintendo claims with these messages that the neighbour’s house in this Animal Crossing: New Horizons screenshot is a mistake

Just yesterday we got the announcement of the new update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which will be released in a few hours. Among the new features, a screenshot was shown showing a neighbour’s house that doesn’t currently exist in the game, sparking rumours and speculation about the arrival of new neighbours.

Well, now Nintendo Japan has spoken out on the issue, stating that it is a mistake. On the company’s official Japanese website, you can read a couple of messages saying that the house doesn’t exist in the game and apologizing for showing it.

This is what you can read at the top of the page:

Updated 27 April: As the screenshot featuring the “Children’s Day” items was found to reflect a house with an appearance that could not appear in the actual game, the corresponding screenshot has been replaced. Our sincere apologies.

We can also read this alongside the new replacement screenshot showing us these objects (the image above):

Update: The screenshot shown at the time of publication reflected a neighbour’s house appearance that may not appear in the actual game, so the screenshot has been replaced. Our sincere apologies.
