Developer publicly asks Nintendo for more powerful hardware than the Nintendo Switch

Some developers seem to be interested in Nintendo launching more powerful consoles. Today we have statements from one of them, namely the developer of Divinity: Original Sin 2, released on Switch.

It’s Larian Studios, who were recently asked by 3DJuegos about the possibility of seeing Baldur’s Gate 3 on Nintendo Switch. In their answer, they made it clear that a more powerful console would be necessary.

These are the words shared by the Barcelona-based studio:

We have no idea what Nintendo is up to, and if we did, we wouldn’t be able to say, but when Nintendo has asked us for feedback as developers we have told them very clearly: either they release hardware with more power and memory, or the Switch will become a new 3DS totally removed from the ‘real world’. I’d like to think that times are changing and they’ll have no choice but to adapt and release something in line with what’s been rumoured.

Will it be enough for a BG3? No idea, but history tends to repeat itself, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we have to make a Herculean effort again in a few years.
