The Netflix service on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS has been officially ended today. The information has been shared by Nintendo in a message.
Remember that the app disappeared from the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS eShops at the end of last year and, until now, if you had already downloaded it, you could use it normally. However, now that July has begun, the service is no longer available.
This is the message Nintendo has posted on the customer service portal:
The Netflix app was removed from Nintendo eShop on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS family systems on 31 December 2020 and discontinued on 30 June 2021. Thank you for your support of these apps over the years.
In the wake of this, many fans are wondering if the Netflix app could be coming to Nintendo Switch. There have been several rumours, but so far nothing has been officially announced. Despite the fact that many TVs and devices come with Netflix as standard, there are still many gamers who would like to have Netflix on the console so they can watch shows on the go.
