This is how Cinnamon refers to Pokémon in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Cinnamon is one of the most prominent characters in Animal Crossing, something that didn’t change with New Horizons, the latest instalment of the series for Nintendo Switch.

Well, another of the characters that have quite a lot of prominence in Pokémon, another of Nintendo’s sagas, is the Joy Nurse, or rather, the Joy Nurses, as they are part of a huge family, precisely the one that Cinnamon refers to in the title for the hybrid console. That there are identical Joy Nurses in the different Pokémon Centres in each of the regions is something that the anime itself explained quite a while ago, claiming that it is because they all belong to the same family, which is why they are, after all, different people.

This is exaggeratedly reminiscent of the situations you can experience in Animal Crossing: New Horizons when you visit a friend and see Cinnamon on their island too, a Cinnamon that doesn’t share memories with your own, so it’s assumed that she’s a different person. We are therefore left wondering if the explanation is similar to the one given in Pokémon with the Joy nurses or if Nintendo will confirm this in the future, although the reference between the two phenomena is quite clear.
