Last May, a fact about Hyrule Warriors: Age of Cataclysm was confirmed that caused disappointment among fans of the game, namely with the specification that the first batch of DLC in the game’s Expansion Pass will only include a single new playable character.
Previously, Nintendo mentioned “expanded character line-up” for this first batch. However, this is now only mentioned for the second batch and in the first batch Nintendo of America has specified that “one new playable character is added”, indicating that the Ancestral Heartbeat portion only includes a single addition to the roster. This is a big disappointment, considering all the possibilities that exist. So far, however, Nintendo has not confirmed who this mysterious new fighter will be.
While there is currently a fairly large roster of playable characters in the title (there are 18), most of them focus on characters (or younger versions of them) from Breath of the Wild. However, the first fighter in the soon-to-be-revealed expansion pass could also be from another Legend of Zelda game.
Well, Screenrant has shared which characters could be coming to the game and they are as follows:
- Most likely it will be a character already in The Age of Cataclysm, so one possibility is that characters like Rotver and Prunia will be included.
- Characters such as Sogg and Aster could also be added in addition to the above. However, given that this year marks Zelda’s 35th anniversary and that The Age of Cataclysm has many main games and previous spin-offs to choose from, it’s possible that the DLC fighter could be from a completely different Zelda game.
- One option would be Linkle, the female version of Link from the first Hyrule Warriors. After her debut, she quickly became a fan favourite, so it would be nice to see her reappear in Age of Cataclysm.
- Finally, they also don’t rule out other possibilities, such as Tingle or Skull Kid (who were fighters in the first Hyrule Warriors) or even skins like Ganondorf with the Ocarina of Time look or Wolf Link from Twilight Princess (especially since the latter can already be added to Breath of the Wild).
Of course, until Nintendo officially unveils the DLC fighter, there’s no way of knowing for sure. So we’ll have to wait and see what they surprise us with.
