Fans wonder what happened to Bayonetta 3: here’s what we know so far

Many Bayonetta 3 fans will be wondering what has happened to the game. This is something completely normal considering movements prior to yesterday’s Nintendo Direct that pointed to news in the presentation, although in the end nothing was shown.

Hideki Kamiya, the game’s director, retweeted the Nintendo Direct post, which led us to believe that there would be news about the game. He also published some images of Bayonetta yesterday, something that also gave hope to the fans.

However, yesterday we only got to know news of The Wonderful 101. This has left many fans wondering what has happened to this third installment of the series, although for now there are not many clarifying details. We only found the following:

  • Platinum Games, developer of the game, is helping Square Enix on Babylon’s Fall.
  • PlatinumGames co-founder Atsushi Inaba also previously mentioned that the developer doesn’t have much to say about projects that they don’t release from the company, something that points to Nintendo perhaps being responsible for the lack of news for now.
  • Hideki Kamiya has only shared that development is “going well” on numerous occasions.
