Cloudscape, a Zelda and Animal Crossing-inspired title from a former SpongeBob animator, plans a Nintendo Switch debut

Here comes the confirmation of a new indie title for Nintendo Switch. It was announced just a few minutes ago by its developers.

According to what has been shared, Cloudscape will be coming to the hybrid console thanks to the funding it is seeking on Kickstarter, a platform where it is already taking it by storm. The game contains inspirations from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing and is being made by Chris Gottron, an animator who previously worked on SpongeBob SquarePants, The Fairly OddParents and She-ra.

We don’t have a specific release date at the moment, so we’ll keep an eye out for more details. In the meantime, you can find the trailer for this indie title below:

Players take on the role of Kumo, a Cloudling who wakes up on land on a sunny deserted island, and find themselves exploring their surroundings to build shelter, gather materials, craft weapons and more to survive among the monsters that roam the night.
