Kunio-kun is a video game franchise started by the defunct Japanese company Technōs Japan. Former members of Technōs founded Million Corp. which bought all of Technōs’ assets (including the Kunio-kun game series) several years after Technōs disappeared. The first game in the series was Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun and was released in 1986 (it came a year later on Famicom), so this year marks the 35th anniversary of the series.
Well, to celebrate, Arc System Works has unveiled the 35th anniversary logo. This will be followed by a variety of projects, which are already underway. These include the following:
- New game releases, “related products” and even collaborations, will take place over the course of a year.
- WayForward also previously confirmed that River City Girls would return to the streets. In the original game, Misako and Kyoko escape from school and make their way through River City in search of their boyfriends Kunio and Riki.
We look forward to seeing exciting news for all Nintendo Switch users.
