As some of you may know, New Pokémon Snap has involved Bandai Namco as a developer. Well, we’ve recently been able to find out what this was all about.
Pokkén Tournament, the physical fighting title released for Wii U, arcade and then Nintendo Switch, seems to be responsible. New Pokémon Snap director Haruki Suzaki confirmed this in a recent interview with IGN.
“Pokkén Tournament used Bandai Namco Studio’s strengths and made Pokémon appealing in a new way,” the creative shared. “Because of this, we had another opportunity to do something together again and this led to the development of New Pokémon Snap. We were able to talk to the developers [of the original game] and the project started with the participation of many people.”
