Hidden file suggests Toadette was planned as a playable character in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury

Directly from Twitter comes a new and interesting video of one of the most prominent games of the moment among users who often play Nintendo Switch. It’s Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.

In the scenes shown in the video, we can see what appears to be a line of Toadette’s voice included hidden in the game’s files along with more references that point to this character being considered for this port. The information comes from @Nickoloxx, who points out that Toadette may have been included and subsequently removed from the title.

Remember that Toadette was already included as a playable character in Super Mario Maker 2 and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, so a lot of the character development work would have been done. Also, it’s strange that she doesn’t even make an appearance in Captain Toad’s levels now that they have enhanced multiplayer in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.
