SEGA has had many hits and misses with the Sonic series over the years, taking the character through multiple stages and different facets. However, many English-speaking fans have become accustomed to hearing the blue hedgehog being voiced by Roger Craig Smith for the past 10 years.
Unfortunately, the talented voice artist recently thanked us for these 10 years working as Sonic, which seemed to be a farewell indicating that he would no longer be playing the heroic hedgehog. Now, SEGA has confirmed that Craig will no longer be working with them.
For over 10 years, Roger Craig Smith has been an integral part of the SEGA family. He brought the voice of Sonic to life, and we are forever grateful for his never-ending enthusiasm in helping the community and spreading joy.

Thank you, Roger, for all you've done for Sonic.
The reasons for his separation from the company are not yet known, and may never be revealed. It is also not known who will now bring Sonic to life in English, but we will keep an eye out for any confirmation from the company.
