Platinum Games confirms that Astral Chain is indeed a Nintendo IP

You probably remember that, a few weeks ago, a change was found on Platinum Games’ official website that indicated that Astral Chain no longer belonged to them because it only appeared on Nintendo’s copyright section. Well, today we have news on the matter.

In a statement shared by Platinum Games director Atsushi Inaba with VGC, it is confirmed that this information is indeed correct. “That’s what it looks like,” he said.

“It’s how it’s written on the website: Astral Chain is their IP and, as such, there are limitations on how much we feel we should talk about.” To this only a spokesperson for the company added that it was “not in a position to answer” further questions on the subject.

This means that Nintendo is primarily responsible for the decisions made with this brand and that it is unlikely to appear on non-Nintendo consoles.
