Dataminer Ninji has shared another interesting finding regarding the recent update to Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
According to Ninji, the spawn rates for various insects and bugs have been adjusted significantly by the update. Most notably, the spawn rates for many valuable rare bugs such as the Peacock Butterfly, Emperor Butterfly, Atlas Moth, and even the infamous Tarantula have all been reduced.
so, how about the insect nerfs in #ACNH 1.2

first, spawn rates have been unified for all insects
e.g. agrias butterfly used to be less common in April than in its other available months. wharf roach had a higher rate in March.
thatโs all gone now#ACdatamining #ACspoilers
peacock butterflies have been cut by 80-90%; emperors and atlas moths by 50%
— Ninji ๐ช๐บ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ๐ฌ๐ฎ (@_Ninji) April 24, 2020
regular stinkbugs are up 100%, man-faced ones down 50%
tiger beetles up by 33%, scarab beetles down 40%
scorpions and tarantulas have both been nerfed significantly as well#ACdatamining #ACspoilers
Much like with the reduction of interest rates, many fans have voiced their displeasure at these changes. As you may recall, many players have been relying on these insects to earn large amounts of bells. Particularly, the reduction in Tarantula spawn rates combined with the advent of Water Bugs will make it that much more difficult for them to farm Tarantulas on Mystery Island for cash.
