The official Japanese Twitter account for the Splatoon brand tweeted out an image wishing their fans a happy new year.

But eagle-eyed Inklings were quick to notice a hidden message in the artwork!

pic.twitter.com/nfsXWNIW0s

Notice anything strange about the reflection? It suspiciously spells out SOS.

But it doesn’t end there; an even closer look at the waves reveals the full message: SAVE OUR SALMONS.

Does this hidden message have a meaning? Is it hinting at something upcoming in the world of Splatoon?

We don’t know, but it’s certainly worth keeping an eye on!
