PlatinumGames confirms they want to release Star Fox Zero on Nintendo Switch

Many of you probably have Star Fox Zero in mind, one of the few Wii U games that didn’t end up coming to Nintendo Switch. Well, today we have some interesting statements about it.

Atsushi Inaba, director of PlatinumGames, has confirmed that, from this developer, they would like to bring the game to the hybrid console. Remember that this company was involved in its development, and now he has shared with VGC that they would like to offer the port for Nintendo Switch.

Here’s what they had to say:

It’s not right that people can’t play older games because they’re locked to one platform, so of course, if it’s possible, we’d like to port any of the older titles to newer platforms. It depends on whether it’s actually possible, but yes, if the opportunity arises, it’s certainly something we’d like to think about.

The important thing to remember is that because it’s a Nintendo IP, the ideas come from Miyamoto-san himself. We have to respect what Miyamoto-san wants to do. Of course, at the time there was a lot of talk between Platinum and Nintendo, but if the opportunity arose to bring Star Fox Zero to Switch again, it would be more a question of whether they would like to offer that opportunity and, of course, we would respect their decision.
