Pokémon Legends: Arceus may confirm that one of Sinnoh’s classic stories is pure fiction

It looks like Pokémon Legends: Arceus is coming to revolutionise the franchise. And incidentally, as CBR has commented, also to disprove or to let us know that the Pokémon world is so alive that it has its own fictional folklore.

We are talking about the books found in the library of Canal City, in the classic Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl. Here we could find a series of volumes where the third story of the book “Folk Tales of Sinnoh” commented that there was a time when there was no distinction between humans and Pokémon, even in marriages. However, from what we have seen so far in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, this is not the case and the difference is clear.

Now, perhaps it could be an even older era than Pokémon Legends: Arceus or a simple oversight on the part of the creators, that they don’t remember what that book said. But perhaps it is more accurate to think that the Pokémon world has its own fantasy literature and mythical stories, adding to the richness of its universe, just as it does in the real world.

In any case, it is not the first time that some information seen in Pokémon or in its Pokédex has made users wonder about many things, even clarifying that, in some cases, they are simply inconceivable facts. All of this leads us to believe that we shouldn’t take all the facts and details we see throughout the franchise at face value.
