Broken Roads coming to Nintendo Switch in 2022

Earlier today we got to know an updated release window for one of the most anticipated indie games for Nintendo Switch players. In this case, we are talking about Broken Roads, confirmed a while ago for the hybrid console.

Recently, it has been shared that this game will be released by Team17 in 2022, as they won’t be able to reach their initial release window planned for this year. As such, fans now know when they will be able to get it on Nintendo Switch. We’ll keep an eye out for more details to be shared between now and the release date available at the moment.

The game tells the story of a group of companions as they make their way through Western Australia, meeting new friends, overcoming terrible enemies and uncovering a mystery behind increasingly bizarre events in Never Never.

Broken Roads’ real-time exploration and turn-based combat are beautifully illustrated with hand-drawn artwork throughout, aiming to deliver a concept art game experience: 3D characters, visual effects, 2D environments and props all follow this painterly style.

The game also introduces players to an original morality system: the moral compass. This novel design shows that dialogue choices and quest decisions influence and are influenced by the character’s philosophical inclination. Players’ decisions will change a character’s philosophical bent and alter their future choices, as well as their moral traits, which can help or hinder.
