Here comes an interesting message related to one of the most outstanding games in history. We’re talking about The Simpsons Hit & Run, released in 2003 on GameCube and other platforms.
In the text below, Matt Selman, co-showrunner of the franchise, confirms that he would love for this game to return, although he recognises that it would be complicated. These are the words he offered to IGN:
I’d love to see a remastered version of [The Simpsons Hit & Run], I would, [but] it’s a complicated corporate racket trying to make that happen.
We were all playing Grand Theft Auto at the time and the publisher wanted another driving game. And we thought, everyone’s playing whatever version of Grand Theft Auto, people need to get out of cars. That was a big creative battle about whether it was just a ‘drive and do missions’ game or a ‘get out of the car and do missions’ game. But I think the battle was worth it.
