Splatoon 2, the second instalment of Nintendo’s popular franchise, has been in decline for several years after its release due to a dearth of content for the game, a situation that culminated in the announcement of its sequel, Splatoon 3, also for Nintendo Switch. This announcement excited its fans, although they will have to wait until 2022 to be able to try it out or, at least, have more details about it. For now, Splatoon 2 continues to deflate, saying goodbye in just under a month to its online arcade feature on Nintendo Switch Online.
However, Nintendo of America appears to be looking to rebound somewhat by showcasing the game’s eSport nature, announcing the “Splatoon 2 Splatter Ladder 2021” tournament, which will take place from 10-31 July. In addition, it has also been detailed that in each of the weekends, a total of four, the focus will be on each of the four available game modes and that those four teams that manage to be the best in each of the days will be rewarded with different prizes, although at the moment it has not been detailed what they will consist of.
