Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin sales surpass 950,000 units sold worldwide

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is a title that mixes side-scrolling action with farm work simulation. Players take on the role of Sakuna, a whimsical harvest deity who is exiled to a dangerous island along with a group of outcast humans. As she explores the beautiful, yet dangerous island environment, Sakuna will also find a home in a mountain village and must prove herself worthy of her title as a deity by harvesting rice and improving the lives of humans.

In addition to offering a fresh look at Japanese mythology and being an homage to action games, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is also an ode to rice and an entertaining simulation of the art of farming.

Marvelous and Edelweiss have announced that Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin has surpassed 950,000 units worldwide as of 31 March. This figure includes both physical and digital copies. It is worth remembering that the game was last reported to have sold 850,000 units on 29 January.

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin launched for Nintendo Switch (also PS4 and PC via Steam) on 10 November 2020 in North America, 12 November in Japan and 20 November in Europe.
