Pokémon Sword and Shield has a system of competitive battles that go by seasons, in which in each of them there are usually significant changes in its gameplay system.
Well, recently Game Freak, the developer of the video games for Nintendo Switch, has announced that they will revert one of the changes made in season 8 (the current one), which will return to the one in force during the last season 7. This change, which will come into effect in the next season 9, will affect the type of Pokémon allowed in this type of qualifying battles. In short, the use of restricted legendary Pokémon will no longer be allowed, a measure that has notably divided the community, with two clearly differentiated positions.
On the one hand, there are those who are in favor of no longer being able to use legendary Pokémon, as they dominate the competitive landscape. Meanwhile, other players who oppose this claim that applying such drastic changes in each season makes it more difficult to adapt to them and that this makes competitive battles boring.
It is clear that it takes a lot of work for the developers to achieve a more or less stable goal while making competitive battles in Pokémon Sword and Shield more and more fun.
